Baby Gift Baskets - Perfect Baby Shower Gift Ideas

Are you looking for a perfect baby shower gift for a family member or friend who is expecting a baby? The answer is a baby gift basket. Baby gift baskets are one of the most thoughtful present you can give to an expectant recipient, allowing you to provide bunch of practical items she can use for her baby and giving way for your creativity to shine through.

When it comes to baby shower gifts, there are many creative ideas to choose from. You can find baby gift baskets in various themes, ranging from simple and frugal to sophisticated and lavish gift baskets. Baby gift baskets may show of a sporty, fairytale, cartoons and other clever themes. Whether you want your gift basket frugal or lavish, there's always a joy when making and giving baby gift baskets.

A gift basket could be made of any good container other than a traditional wicker basket. You can use baby bath tub, laundry basket or even a bucket as your alternatives. Whichever container you want to use, it should be big enough to accommodate numerous gift items that will be filled in. Decorate your chosen container with matching colors and other embellishment. You can use a spray paint with a color palette that match to the gender of the baby.

Choosing fillers is the most fun part when making a gift basket. Remember that there are so many essential items a new mom will need for her baby, so you most likely have plenty of gift items to put into the basket. If the gender of the baby is not yet determined, it is safe to think about gender-neutral gifts. Consider items in neutral colors such as white, green and yellow.

For the fillers, you can have anything that both the mom and baby will enjoy using. Popular gift items that are usually included in a baby gift basket are newborn clothing, baby blankets, burp cloths, bibs, baby bottles, baby dishes, bathing supplies, booties, socks, hats, diapers, diaper bags, baby books, rattles, stuffed animals and the likes. Of course, you can always add anything you wish to include in your gift basket.

Finish your baby gift basket by wrapping it with cellophane; transparent or colored cellophane will do. You can then put a bow on the top of the package and then add a note tag. Various decorative materials are usually available at your local crafts store.

Today, you can find a wide variety of gift baskets both in local and online gift stores. There are thousands of online specialty stores these days that carry different types of baby gifts - from baby shower gifts, christening gifts to baby birthday gifts. Online specialty stores also offer personalized baby gift baskets and other personalized baby items, such as embroidered baby outfits and baby blankets; engraved baby picture frames; personalized toys; personalized nursery furnitures, embroidered diaper bags and etc. You can personalize your choice by either including the baby's name, initials, date of birth, or a personal message.

How to Make the Perfect Newborn Baby Gift

In my opinion, stop searching the shops and try making them something. It may sound like hard work, but when you do give them your gift, you will see that it was worth all the effort. There's something special about giving people handmade gifts. I regularly make gifts for my friends and family whether it be for Christmas or a Birthday, and it never fails to put a smile on their faces. You don't have to be particularly creatively gifted either! Sometimes the simplest looking thing can be the most stylish too.

Where I'd start is with what your goal is. Do you want to create a box, a basket, something unique? Do you want to go "all out" on big expensive items to fill your basket with? Are you sticking to a small budget? What colours do you want to fit in? There are lots of things to consider.

One thing I highly recommend is looking on the internet for inspiration. Once you have an idea of what you'd like to put in your basket, do a search for your items before even setting foot in a shop. Just doing some quick searches online could save you money, all this and you don't even need to leave your house. By looking online you will be able to refine what exactly you are looking for. Many online stores let you search by preference, which is great as you can narrow down to the exact size, even colour you are looking for.

What I tend to include in a simple baby basket is 3 core items.

1. Soft toy
2. Baby basics (clothing, bibs etc)
3. Trinket/Frame/Photo Album

If you stick to that you will keep your costs down if you shop wisely and it will look great too. I start by taking a simple basket, you can find these in any good homewear department store. I look for the ones that are lined with material, they give a more unique look. I then place the items I have in the basket and build it up to get an idea of what it will look like. Once I am happy with my design I secure the items in place.

Now there are many different ways to secure your items. You can use gardening wire (make sure to make it clear to the recipient that there is wire holding it together, as want to make sure there are no hidden dangers for the baby.)You can use tape, however I would avoid using this if you decide to put in clothing as it may stick and stain. Another great way to keep it all together is to use shrink wrap. Its relatively inexpensive but gives a great look. You can find the shrink wrap bags ready made on most online auction sites.

Once I have all my gifts in place I decorate the basket with ribbons and cellophane. You can be as elaborate as you like - add some baby confetti, sweets, cards, pictures, balloons, have fun with it!

GiftBaskets: Perfect Cheap Gift for Everyone!

Are you looking for gift ideas that show you care, yet cost almost nothing?
Well, GiftBaskets are the answer. I don't mean those expensive, fancy wine or gourmet GiftBasket jobs you can buy for a fortune. I mean simple, beautiful giftbaskets you can make yourself. Your family and friends will
THINK they are the costly kind, but truth is it is ridiculously cheap and easy.

The beauty of GiftBaskets is the opportunity to be personal. That's the caring touch that makes people feel that your gift is thoughtful. That's the kind of gift that will be treasured and remembered. The great thing is how easy and cheap it is to make stunning personalized Giftbaskets.

A GiftBasket can be a lot of things, but there are a few principles to remember. Here are a few basics for successful GiftBaskets to Wow and touch your lucky
recievers. A GiftBasket usually consists of a container, usually a basket, and contents. Typically, it is then wrapped in "cellophane" (clear or colored
translucent plastic paper)and decorated.

Let's look into each component. Once you "get" the concept, you'll realize that GiftBaskets are really the perfect gift giving format. GiftBasket creation is the Art of creating a caring statement to your reciever.

These are the basics:
Container: This is usually a basket, but it doesn't have to be limited to that. The "Basket" itself is a big category of possibilities, colors, sozes, shapes and styles. Inexpensive baskets can be found at Party good stores, and most large variety and bargain stores. A good resource is garage sales and swapmeets and the like.

When you see a nice basket at a great price, grab it and put it away for "gift giving time".
However, creativity is your only limit when it comes to Giftbasket containers. Don't think that it has to be a traditional woven basket. It can be ANY container. Be creative!
Party supply stores and even supermarket paper-good sections are great places to find cheap Giftbasket containers. Great ideas are Disposable Serving Bowels that are a decorated in a nice pattern. If there is a coordinating napkin , it can make a coordinated basket liner!
A simple Clear plastic bowel can stunning if the contents are interesting or colorful.
Even nice crockry pieces make beautiful exclusive looking giftBaskets, Planters also, are a nice idea. They range from simple to georgeous. Plastic serving Platters can also work well. Mugs are nice too!

Your basket, or container then needs to be lined with a napkin, cloth or even colored filler. An old colorful scarf works great! Most Party goods stores carry this type of stuff, as well as cellophane and ribbons, bows etc.
Even white styrafoam packing filler pellets looks nice as is. It's easy to "Dye" it! Just shake it up in a plastic bag with food coloring and then spreading out to dry on a tray for an hour!

Next come the Content. What goes in the basket? Here's where the personal touch comes in. Decide a "theme" for your basket. What does the recipient like? What are they into? Creativity is the limit. And it doesn't have to be expensive at all. Suggestions may be chocolate, coffees, wines, stationary items, jams, baby items, little toys, Chips, tools, socks, gourmet foods or foods that they like.

Even "Diet Food" Giftbaskets are fun and big successes. Baked goods and cooked portions like lasagna or salamis go over really well. Even plain old grocery items of favorite foods or drinks are great! Of course add personal touches along with content like flowers, notes, pictures and the like. Family photographs are very nice in holiday GistBasketbaskets. If the GiftBasket is going to a hobbyist you can include a rememberance like a golf picture or a music nototion sheet with a message.

Kids LOVE giftBaskets. A few cheap toys, gums and stickers become a Super GiftBasket!

Last and perhaps Most important comes the decoration:
Wrap the container and contents in cellophane, like a sack. Gather the corners at the top and firmly secure with ribbin or a rubber band. Tie Ribbon around the secured area, adorn with stick on bows, cloth flowers, ornaments, novelty items etc. and you have a spectacular , cheap personalized gift.

Complete by attaching a card or note and that's it!
Of course the card, or note in itself is as creative as you want!

Somehow cellophane, ribbon and a card create a magic gift that your loved ones will remember for a long time. It's also a wonderful family project that children love!
